Hello! My name is Katy Pease, and I absolutely love teaching! I knew from an early age that I wanted to teach, and I used to play "teacher" with my friends. I also loved sign language, and once I discovered I could combine both of my loves into a career, I packed my bags for Austin, Texas! I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin (Hook 'Em Horns!) with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders: Deaf Education/Deafness Studies. Like many UT graduates, I fell in love with the city and never left. I absolutely love my job as the Oral PPCD Deaf Education teacher, and I feel very fortunate to teach your children.
I am from Seabrook, TX, and I have lived in Austin for 13 years. I have a wonderful husband, Patrick, and together we have a baby boy named Benjamin. In addition to our human baby, we have two fur babies as well: a golden retriever named Maggie, and a sweet old cat named Toby. In our free time, we love hiking on the greenbelt, seeing movies at Alamo Drafthouse, traveling, and exploring all of the unique coffee shops and eateries around town. I am thrilled to get to know you and your child! I believe open communication with my students' families is paramount to school success, so please do not hesitate to contact me throughout the school year with questions, concerns, or even just to tell me a great story about your child! I promise to reciprocate! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello! My name is Anna Wilwayco, and I graduated from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas with a degree in Elementary Education. I am excited to celebrate my fifth year at Live Oak Elementary, working with PPCD students. When I am not at Live Oak, I love to travel, surf, and run half and full marathons. Something unique about me is that I have gone skydiving. My all time favorite book is Amelia Bedelia. I'm honored to have met enthusiastic, inspiring, fun-loving, charismatic teachers throughout my teaching career. I understand that all of the qualities listed above are important to me because I want my students to see me in that light too! I thrive in a team environment, and work closely with other teachers and school staff. Teaching is my passion! I am looking forward to meeting your child this coming school year. |
